Our Spiritual Perspective
Celebrating Diversity
We delight in the beautiful variety of flowers and
animal life we have here at the Sanctuary. We also
delight in the beauty of diversity in the human family
and the human experience. This diversity lends a rich
depth of experience to our common journey. For this
reason, we welcome all people who are peaceful &
respectful of others, regardless of religion, race,
national origin, politics, sexual orientation or
whatever....
Our Spiritual Perspective
Our spiritual perspective is a reflection of this
celebration of diversity. It is very simply the path of
the heart reflected in love and compassion, in whatever
form that may take at any given moment.
It has been our experience that the mind divides while
the heart unites. The mind, devoted as it is to ideas &
beliefs, is constantly analyzing, dissecting and
formulating philosophies, dogmas and practices and
defending them, often with vehemence. The heart, on the
other hand, doesn't think or believe. It feels. It feels
that which is of Love and that which is not of Love.
When we step beyond the mind and belief and into the
heart we experience the true nature of Divine Presence
as Love.
We honor the human need to believe and to reach out (or
inward) to Divine Presence through various forms &
practices. But we know that when the Essence is reached,
regardless of the method or path, it will be known as
Love.
Because we are of the Divine - of Love - our True Nature
is innocence. We do not honor guilt, blame, judgment or
condemnation, for our True Nature is innocence. At the
personality level, the level of our daily drama, we
acknowledge failure, weakness, mistakes, the human
struggle - even the appearance of that which we call
evil. But we know that these are just a part of our
drama; just where we are at the personality level at any
given moment in time, and not our fundamental nature.
The purpose of Mountain Light Sanctuary is to provide
you with a place to rediscover and reconnect with your
essential nature, with your original innocence, with
Divine Presence, and with Love.
The Mountain Light Prayer

Divine Presence
Whose Nature Is Love
Let me be an instrument of your peace;
Where there is hatred, let me bring love;
Where there is doubt, let me bring faith;
Where there is sadness, let me bring joy;
Where there is fear, let me bring courage;
Where there is despair, let me bring hope;
Where there is illness, let me bring health;
Where there is darkness, let me bring light;
Where there is lack, let me bring abundance
Where there is discord, let me bring harmony;
Where there is ignorance, let me bring wisdom;
Where there is injury, let me bring forgiveness;
Where there is weakness, let me bring strength;
Where there is poverty, let me bring prosperity
May I seek always
To comfort more than to be comforted;
To understand more than to be understood;
To love more than to be loved;
For I know that
It is in giving that we receive,
It is by forgiving that we are forgiven
And it is in dying to self
That we are awakened into Oneness
Amen
