Rates
In
keeping with the ancient monastic tradition of
hospitality, we offer accommodations on a donation
basis. However, we have found that guests are more
comfortable when they have an idea of the average
donation we receive for each accommodation. These are as
follows:
For the shelters, including the Balihouse, Hobbithut,
Treehouse, Merlinwood, ZenTao, the Garden Suite & the
Gnome Lodge we receive an average of $35 per person per
night based on the guest bringing their own bedding and
towel.
For the Hermitage we receive an average of $75 per night
for one or two guests and $25 for each additional person
based on guests bringing their own bedding & towel.
For rooms in the Lodge we receive an average of $50 per
person per night for the single beds in a private room,
$75 for one or two people in a room with a queen size
bed or two people sharing a room with two twin beds,
with linen and towels provided.
The average donation for tent space is $35 per night for
up to two people & $10 for each additional person, with
guests having full use of the Sanctuary, including the
kitchen and toilets.
The average donation per person for day use and also for
pets is $15 per day.
We normally limit stays at the Hermitage and Wisteria
room (the most popular accommodations) to three days and
to one week for the other accommodations for first time
guests, with some exceptions. Longer stays are available
to returning guests.
We have a policy that no one is turned away for lack of
money, so we also offer a work trade option of three
hours work for each nights lodging in one of the
shelters.
Payment
We accept cash, personal checks & travelers checks but
are not set up for credit cards.
Deposits & Cancellations
We work on an honor system and do not require a deposit
from individual guests but may request a deposit for one
for first time groups of five or more people. We do ask
that you give us as much advanced notice as possible if
you need to cancel so that we can make the accommodation
available to other guests. We do not accept future
reservations from guests who have not canceled and
simply don't show up unless the reservation is paid in
advance, in full.
Work/Trade
From time to time we are able to offer short-term
stays on a work/trade basis of three hours a day of work
per person for each nights stay. Normally work/trade is
offered for up to three nights for first time guests.
Longer work/trade stays are available for returning
guests and in certain other situations. Also, longer
stays may include a combination of work/trade & payment,
according to a guest's needs and resources. We are not
able to reserve specific accommodations for our
work/trade guests. Tents are provided or guests may
bring their own. Guests are also responsible for their
own bedding and towels.
Depending on the time of year, the work might involved
gardening, landscaping, lawn mowing or indoor house
work. And occasionally we can use the specialized skills
of an artist, carpenter or others. If you are interested
in this, write and request our work/trade reservation
